Young Eyes– February, 2017
Dr. Young has returned from attending the Symposium on Cataract, Retina, and Inflammatory Eye Disease presented by the New Orleans Academy of Ophthalmology. The symposium was in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 10-12, 2017 and is accredited to provide medical education for physicians.
Cataract Surgery is one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures in the United States. Cataract Surgery is a major part of the practice of comprehensive ophthalmology, thereby meriting it necessary to update physician’s competence of cataract management with respect to new medical and surgical modalities.
Many features of the management of inflammatory eye disease were not known just a few years ago. Comprehensive ophthalmologists and specialists need to be familiar with new therapies. The symposium will increase the understanding of the concepts and techniques necessary to correctly diagnose and treat patients with cataract, retinal, and inflammatory eye disease.
